Anne Fletcher, AIA, LEED®AP, Principal of the Zyscovich Architects New York City office, was elected to the board of Women in Housing and Finance (WHF) New York at the organization's annual membership meeting May 26.
Fletcher helped open Zyscovich's New York City office in 2005 and was named principal last year after serving as lead associate for the location. She oversees all daily operations for the office along with working as project manager and senior designer for its portfolio of projects.
Established in 1981, Women in Housing and Finance New York is a central industry resource for women and men throughout the New York metropolitan area. The organization provides up-to-the-minute information, networking opportunities and the means for professional development to a diverse group of members from all aspects of housing and finance.
"I am thrilled to have been elected by my colleagues to serve on the Board of Women in Housing and Finance," Fletcher said. "This is a great group of individuals who are focused on expanding affordable and workforce housing in New York City and I am proud to help lead those efforts on their behalf."
Fletcher joined Zyscovich Architects in 2002, serving as project manager for the firm's Meridian multi-family condominium project in South Beach. Over the years, she has managed a variety of projects showcasing her skills in architectural, urban, interior and LEED® design. Fletcher was honored as one of the industry's rising stars in Building Design Construction's fourth annual "40 Under 40" competition which appeared in the magazine's January 2010 issue.
Among other endeavors in New York, Fletcher led the design of two affordable mixed-use projects on infill urban sites. Design was done in partnership with Full Spectrum of NY, community groups and Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) in the South Bronx. She also worked with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to craft a new LEED Innovation Credit for Access to Healthy Foods in underserved neighborhoods to complement the Active Design Guidelines that will be folded into the design of those projects.
Fletcher is involved in the New York real estate and design community. In addition to Women in Housing and Finance, she is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Regional Plan Association (RPA) and Urban Green (USGBC NY). As an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), she is Co-chair of the New York District Council's Sustainable Building Council and has championed a number of NY District Council events focused on sustainability.
